Hokies & Made For TV Football

We begin with some exciting news for Hokie football fans. A Virginia Tech vs. Alabama season opener for 2009 is now in the planning stages. Tech was slated to open against Cincinnati next season.
But the Hokies are pushing that game back to 2012 in order to accommodate a made-for-TV game at the Georgia Dome. Talks are currently ongoing with Alabama. If an agreement can't be reached with the Crimson Tide, Tech's opponent would likely be another SEC team.
There's also word that tickets for the Hokies opener this year against East Carolina in Charlotte have sold out. Fans can click here to visit seatexchange.com to check on ticket availability.
