Back in early June it looked like the Pirates' first-round pick from last year had turned the corner. Daniel Moskos won three straight games but since then he's 1-and-3 in his last five starts, allowing 31 hits and 28 runs.
Monday night was another one of those nights. It's never good to have a meeting on the mound in the first inning. He gave up 3 runs in the first and 2 more in the 2nd. Moskos went 5 and a third and gave up 6 runs on a season-high 12 hits.
Bottom 2, the Hillcats get a run back. Jared Keel sends a liner into the gap. Kent Sakamoto scores and it's 5-1. Fast forward to the 6th, Lynchburg scores two more runs on a Sakamoto homer and a Chris Watts single here that scores Miles Durham.
That made it 6-3 but the comeback falls short. The Cats have now lost 5 of 6, 8 to 6 the final.
