Big home game for the Hillcats Tuesday night. They need to regain some confidence, having lost five of their last games and with 10 straight road games coming up after Wednesday night.
Hillcats and Blue Rocks from City Stadium. Lindsey turning on the burners and smoking Southpaw in the Mascot Race. Lynchburg jumped on the Blue Rocks in the first inning, scoring four runs on three straight doubles and a two-run Miles Durham homer.
It could have been 5-0 in the third on Kent Sakamoto's base knock to left, but Jarrod Dyson came up firing and nailed Jamie Romak at the plate, nice diving tag by Matt Morizio. Romak, though, had a killer night at the plate, 4-for-5, tying his career-high for hits in a game, including three doubles, driving in three runs one here in the fifth as Lynchburg tacked on three more runs.
Jim Negrych and Sakamoto each added three hits and two RBI as the 'Cats snap their two-game skid as the weather got a little crazy in the late innings. 'Cats win big 11-3.
Salem playing at Winston-Salem, the Avs downed the Warthogs 6-4.

The Danville Braves were trying to knock off first-place Pulaski a second-straight night at Dan Daniel Park. Pulaski took a three-and-a-half game lead over the Braves into Tuesday night's action. The start of the game delayed by a storm rolling through, the ominous cloud hovering over American Legion Post 325 field. The Braves and Mariners would play later.
Danville's David Francis striking out the side four times in six innings and combining with Matt Small on a 7-inning no-hitter. Danville edges Pulaski 1-0.
