A portion of the southbound lane of Route 29 between Gretna and Altavista remains closed after an accident involving two tractor trailers. State police tell us one truck lost control and hit an embankment flipping over. A second tractor trailer then hit the first.

The 41 year old driver of the first truck and a young boy who was in the cab with him were able to get out and are expected to be ok. The 74 year old driver of the second truck was airlifted to Lynchburg Regional Hospital. There's no word on his condition.
