The defending Big South football champion Liberty Flames (web) opened their preseason training camp Thursday afternoon at Williams Stadium.
More than 90 players took to the turf with Big South Coach of the Year Danny Rocco holding the first of 29 training camp practices leading up to the August 30th opener against North Greenville.
All practices are open to the public, they'll be held either at Williams Stadium or the natural grass turf adjacent to the Football Operations Center. Could this be the first Liberty team to earn a playoff bid? This year's slogan is "Unfinished Business."
Danny Rocco, Third-year Flames Head Coach - "This year, you know, we're coming off a championship season last year. So I think our kids know what it takes, the expectations are very high, very little if any margin for error. So we've really got to go back to basics and focus and execute and really get ourselves ready to get off to a fast start."
