Rest Stop Closure Date Set
As we reported last month, 9 of 18 rest stops from Winchester to Bristol along the 1-81 corridor are scheduled to close. That date has been set for July 21.
In our viewing area, the closures will affect the southbound stop in near Troutville in Botetourt County and the northbound stop just outside of Radford.
While these closures are considered permanent, VDOT is looking for private investors interested in taking over the affected rest areas.
