In our "Football Friday" preview, we check in at E.C. Glass, home of the Hilltoppers. Monday was the first day of two-a-day practices for Glass.

Second-year head coach Richard Trent says the Hilltoppers are making lots of changes on offense, including going to a veer triple-option concept. Glass is coming off a tough 1-and-9 season a year ago, but Trent says the exciting thing is those eight sophomores pressed into starting last year are now juniors with a year's experience.

Richard Trent, 2nd-year E.C. Glass Head Coach - "We're really trying to get that chemistry. We've told our kids we feel like we've got the athletes to win, we've just got to develop the chemistry and the mindset that we are a winning program again."

Matthew Smith, Hilltoppers Senior Free Safety/RB - "I think the coaches made the necessary changes in the off-season and our players put in the work during the off-season. So I think we should be a big improvement."

Da'ron McCormick, Hilltoppers Senior Linebacker/FB - "Last year we had a weak offense, the offense should be better than before. Our defense, most of the players came back on defense so I believe we're gonna be strong on defense."
