A Montvale man accused of growing marijuana in the same home where his two year old lives will face fewer criminal charges. Wednesday Jason Mason and his wife Joanie were in Bedford County Court on drug and child abuse charges.
The Commonwealth's Attorney agreed to drop a gun possession charge and one drug charge for Jason. Investigators say they found two pounds of Marijuana, a number of marijuana plants, and nine guns in the Mason's home last April.
Officers say a bag of drugs was found in their two-year-old's bedroom. The Mason's still face drug charges and felony child abuse charges, but waived their hearing for General District Court. The case will now go to Circuit Court.
The Commonwealth Attorney agreed to drop Jason Mason's gun charge because the gun wasn't on his person during the time of his arrest. They dropped one of the drug charges because it overlapped with another charge.
