You may want to plan another route if you're going to be in the Boonsboro Road area of Lynchburg this week. Delays are possible because crews will be doing work there for the next few weeks.
We're talking about a very heavily traveled stretch of road, especially during the morning and evening rush hours. Things are moving smoothly now, but city leaders have signs up telling people to expect long delays once the work starts.
This is part of the massive city-wide CSO or combined sewer overflow project. City leaders say they expect the work to begin affecting traffic sometime Wednesday. This is what's going to happen. Part of Boonsboro will go down to one lane somewhere between Linden Avenue and Parkland Drive. However, both lanes will be open evenings and on weekends.
Workers expect to be here through mid-September and they are encouraging you to find alternate routes.
