Students at Randolph College (web) have joined the eco-friendly movement. The Environmental Club has started making detergent with all-natural ingredients. They're selling it in recycled water bottles at a dollar apiece.
Volunteers say it's more concentrated, it smells better and most importantly, it's good for the environment.
Danielle Simms, Randolph College Environmental Club - "We use borax, washing soda and soap so there's no phosphates or anything to destroy the water cycle or anything like that."
The Environmental Club also just started a campus-wide Bike Sharing Program. Half-a-dozen bikes were donated to help get it started. They're available to all students and faculty who need to get around town or ride the Blackwater Trails.
The bicycles can be identified by their painted green wheels. Organizers say the program will be based on the honor system. No one will need to sign for the bikes.
