Bedford, VA -
Hundreds turned out Saturday at Bedford Elementary School for a town hall meeting with 5th district Congressman Tom Perriello. But like many similar meetings nationwide, the reception was far from friendly.
Rep. Tom Perriello, 5th District – “Most of this is legitimate local dissent. Some of it expressed eloquently, some very vocally.”
The meetings are intended to make the issue clearer, but for many the topic is murkier than ever.
President Obama has made health care reform a personal mission. His push gained some surprising support Saturday. Reports are pharmaceutical companies will lobby Capitol Hill with $150 million to spread their message. In his weekly address, the President suggests health care reform is a step towards getting the economy on the right path.
