Mark Warner Pitches Broadband

A broadband connection for everyone in the Commonwealth. It's been former governor Mark Warner's mission. He says it could bring the Southside back from an economic slump. Warner was in South Boston Friday, talking with local leaders and Southside broadband providers.
The goal is to fully connect Southern Virginia to the internet, first starting with the school systems. Leaders got to see how classroom teleconferencing would work to link schools and teachers miles away. Warner says connectivity will improve education and the economy.
Mark Warner, Former Governor - "I'm not saying that high speed internet is going to guarantee you that a new business will come into town, but if you don't have that high-speed internet, that business is not even going to look at your community."
