Working together to provide more jobs, that's what Luna Innovations and Danville Community College plan to do. They're partnering up to provide a nanotechnology training program for students.
Officials at Luna say they hope to attract more local people. They also believe specialized training will give students a competitive edge in the job market, wherever they end up.
Brian Holloway, Luna Innovations - "I think that Luna is going to have to compete for these people coming out of this program because I see both a local and a regional need for this type of education."
Carlyle Ramsey, Danville Community College - "These are really good paying jobs, if you look at Luna workforce, a lot of PhDs, a lot of scientists lot of engineers."
Luna is the largest employer in the Tobacco Warehouse District. The partnership is being funded through a three year grant from the National Science Foundation.
