Dozens of people showed up to Appomattox County High School with dozens of questions. Questions about property damage, reimbursements and whether another massive blast like Sunday's could happen again.

Williams Gas Pipeline officials held a forum at the high school for those affected by the gas pipe explosion. A lot of people weren't happy when they left that meeting. They say Williams didn't seem ready to give them straight answers.

The company says it's going to reimburse people to the best of their ability and will even pay for trauma counseling. People want to get money back for the damage done, not just to their property, but their property values. Williams officials say it's too early to address that issue.

They asked people to sign up and list their property concerns so the company can address them individually. And folks are still concerned about two nearby pipelines that are still pumping gas.

James Brotherton, Concerned About Gas Pipes -"Very, very dangerous. They should've shut them off and run an inspection on them before they turned them back on, but they didn't do that."

David Marsh, Concerned About Gas Pipelines - "They right beside each other. One is twenty-five feet the other is 40 some feet away. And, why they got gas running through it. They say they lowered the pressure but, I don't know"

Williams says it's standard procedure is to lower the pressure in pipelines that are in question, not shut them off. The company says this is the first time a pipe has failed and injured people. It's an accident they say they take very seriously.

Larry Hjalmarson, Williams Gas Pipeline - "Hurting people is really our main concern and our first concern."

County officials, meanwhile, are telling those who live in all but three homes, that they can go back home. But they want them to look carefully for signs of structural damage. And if they find any, they need to get out. Williams officials are holding another meeting at Appomattox County High School Tuesday night at 7:00.

Talkback: Many Not Happy After Explosion Meeting
Tori

First of all we need to thank God that no deaths were a result from this accident.

If the Williams compnay didn't care about the emotional trama we received why did they have Bev Hopkins a compliance director and two of her clinical staff people at the meeting to talk to anyone with emotional needs!  I also have young children as a matter of fact I had 5 kids with me the morning of the accident and they were very scared!  They were so scared that they ran up the road before I could even get them into the car.  Once I got in my car and picked them  up I took  and all five of those children to a church and we set in the parking lot and prayed.  Yes they didn't want to return home last night because they were scared, but again we turned it over to God.  Try praying that God take the nightmares away - and watch Him work.  I just hope and pray people are not making any false accusations trying to get money out of the Williams Company!

Our main concern right now should be for the Jamerson & Childress family, and the other family that lost everything!

And as for the motel rooms went, me and my kids did not go to the high school to register we didn't have our name on a list, all we did was went to the motel and told them who we were and why we were there and they gave us a room, we didn't have any money and we didn't have to pay a dime.

I am not taking up for the Williams company or nothing like that, but give the people a chance to help you, but most important no man can help you better than God!
