Family, Friends & Police Concerned Over Missing Teen
posted 10:37 pm Thu October 04, 2007 - Botetourt Co., VA
She's young, beautiful and missing. It's been four days since anyone has seen or heard from Samantha Bittler. Investigators say it's like Samantha just vanished. The 19-year-old from Bedford was last seen Sunday night at her cousin's house in Botetourt County.
We talked to her mother and sister Thursday and as you can image, they are worried sick. Her family grew concerned when she didn't show up for work Monday morning. The 2006 Liberty High School grad is about 5-foot-five, about 110 pounds, with short, dirty blonde hair and blue eyes.
Her family is pleading for your help.
Cathy Bittler, Samantha's Mother - "She's a very gentle person, she's a very gentle soul, she's very easy to get along with. If anybody knows anything or has any contact with her, just let her know that she needs to call home. She's got everybody worried!"
They first started getting worried when Samantha didn't show up at the Valley View Applebee's Monday morning where she works as a waitress. Her boss says she's never not called to say she couldn't come in. And he's not the only one who hasn't heard from her.
Bittler - "I have gone a couple days and not talked to Sam. But she has never, never gone and not spoke to anyone. This is not like Samantha!"
The family is so concerned, as you can imagine, that they're putting these posters up all over town. Including here at Applebee's, where Samantha works.
Bittler - "We have absolutely checked everyone that we know, that's she's associated with, that she's talked to, that she's hung out with, that she's worked with. It's just a mystery! It's just a very, very strange thing. And strange behavior for her!"
Also missing is Samantha's car, a 1999 Black Chevrolet Cavalier, Virginia license number KAB-1747. Her mother says it has Liberty High School and Dale Earnhardt, Sr., stickers on it also a yellow "support our troops" ribbon.
Bittler - "If you think you've seen her, just call us. Just call anyone. Just call the Botetourt County Sheriff's Department. Reward money is offered for Sam brought home safely. And that's all we want. No one will get in trouble! Just get her home safe!"
Detective N.C. Tolley with the Botetourt County Sheriff's Department says Samantha Bittler's cell phone is off and there has not been any activity to her bank account or her MySpace page. If you know anything, you're asked to call police.--
