The folks at Liberty University (web) are taking their aeronautics program to new heights. The addition of a new Schweizer helicopter makes Liberty one of just three schools in the nation to offer both fixed-wing and helicopter training in its School of Aeronautics.
Instructor Dave Young says it's going to be a big part of expanding the university's program.
Dave Young, Liberty University Aeronautics - "It's been absolutely unbelievable -- where we've come from six years ago: from just a handful of students to over 250 students. And the range of activities that we have in our school, as well as the offerings we have. So, we like to say that we aim high and the sky is the limit."
Liberty is hoping to enroll fifty students in its new helicopter training class.
