Be careful what you wear to the polls on Election Day.
The State Board of Elections decided today to adopt a ban on clothing, including buttons and hats that directly endorse a candidate or issue.
The ban is effective within 40 feet of a polling place.
The American Civil Liberties Union argued the ban violates the First Amendment right to free speech.
But the board disagreed, saying it has to weigh that against the right to vote free of undue influence.
