Campbell Co., VA - Campbell County fire investigators are working on finding the cause of a fire that destroyed a warehouse in Lyn Dan Heights on Friday morning.
Greer Wholesale burned down in just minutes, along with everything inside it including brand new mattresses, leather couches, electronics and food--everything they sell in their store next door.
Fortunately, the fire department was able to get the flames under control before it spread to the shop itself.
The last customer had just left Greer Wholesale, on 29 South, when a worker saw the flames.
Greer Wholesale worker Devin Nelson said, "All I did was just looked out the window and I just saw fire, I hollered out loud there is a fire."
Greer Wholesale worker Dallas Armentrout said, "I didn't even believe him at first and I'm not even sure that I heard him and then I come out and I seen the building on fire."
The two employees, and the store's owner, Dewey Greer jumped into action.
"It was hectic, very hectic at the time, we just tried to move everything away and save as much as possible," Armentrout said.

By the time fire crews arrived, it was already too late.
"Yeah it's scary, one minute it was small, another minute it just got big," Nelson said.
Chief Alan Maddox with the Evington Fire Department said, "It leveled itself pretty quick, I think for every minute, a fire grows two times in size."
Firefighters had the added challenge of accessing a water source.
"The challenge is that the closest hydrant across on the northbound lane of 29, we had to block four lanes of 29 to do it," Maddox said.
Although no one was hurt and the store is still intact, workers say, it's still a huge loss.
"Its devastating to all of us," Nelson said.
The store's owner was renting the property. He tells me he knows his insurance covered his shop, but he's not sure about the warehouse.
