Bedford County, VA - Bedford County Sheriff deputies are in pursuit of a Danville man they say lead them on a high speed car chase Saturday evening then fled on foot. K-9 units and the Virginia State Police
(web) helicopter were used to scour the Bedford County area for 41-year-old Robert Willis Fulton. Sgt. Shannon Zimmerman says Fulton was driving his vehicle at a high rate of speed on Route 460 around 7 p.m. Saturday. When officers attempted to pull him over, police say Fulton sped off. Spike strips were laid down to stop his vehicle. Deputies say the car’s tires blew out near the Bedford Days Inn and Fulton took off running. Two passengers were questioned and later released.
