Lynchburg and Amherst Co., VA - The swine flu vaccine has finally come to our area of Virginia. Starting on Monday, students in Lynchburg and Amherst County began receiving the H1N1 antivirus.
On Tuesday, Governor Kaine will visit our area to talk about the vaccine. He'll travel to Linkhorne Middle School when kids are scheduled to get their doses.
Later in the week, nurses from the Central Virginia Health District will visit some Appomattox County Schools. Bedford and Campbell Counties get theirs next week.
School officials have spent the past couple of weeks collecting consent forms from interested parents. The vaccine is in two forms- a regular shot and a nasal mist.
