Lexington, VA - Scouts all over the country are getting the word out about upcoming celebrations for their 100th Birthday.
Members of the Stonewall Jackson Area Council made their presentation at VMI on Friday.
More than 100 cadet Eagle Scouts were in attendance. 12-percent of VMI's cadets are Eagle Scouts, making Friday morning's announcement a good fit at the school.
Don Ellis/CEO Stonewall Jackson Area Council said, "I understand that... one of the things they look at, not all the things, of course: Are you an Eagle Scout? So that is certainly a strong testament of VMI's continued support of the Boy Scouts of America".
The Boy Scouts will begin to officially celebrate their century mark beginning in February. The big event next year is The Scouts' National Jamboree at Fort AP Hill, beginning July 26.
