Goodlatte Hosts Veterans' Service Fair

American veterans have given so much in service to this country. But some people don't believe these veterans are properly cared for when they get home. Congressman Bob Goodlatte hosted a Veterans Service Fair Monday in Vinton. The purpose was to enroll more veterans in the "VA healthcare system" and to "better connect" them to many programs, benefits and services, about which they may not know.
Rep. Bob Goodlatte, (R) Virginia - "They've gone to the most remote places in the world to help promote freedom around the world. So they have my utmost respect and they deserve all the help they need if they're having a health problem or an employment problem or something else that we can help them with."
Pete Snelling, Vietnam Veteran - "Many of the veterans have severe health problems, they have a long wait to get into the system, there's not adequate money allocated both at the federal and state level to give us the health care that we rightfully deserve."
At least one solution option? Veteran Pete Snelling thinks the federal government needs to cut back on foreign aid and spend some of those dollars helping veterans back here at home.
