Veggie RV on LC Campus

Some of your favorite deep fried foods may be clogging your arteries, but they could work like a charm in your car's engine. An R.V. running on vegetable oil rolled up on the campus of Lynchburg College Wednesday afternoon. Inside, the Janssen family of northern Iowa lives what they call a "light life" based on sustainable energy. Their nationwide tour, "Live Lightly," offers a chance for people see alternative fuel in action.
And, they tell us, they never seem to run out of restaurant owners willing to help gas up for the next trip.
Matt Janssen, Live Lightly Tour - "We just basically stop and ask them, and they'll usually just hand it right over to us. So, we usually take about a hundred gallons at a shot."
Thursday's trip will be fueled, at least in part, by Lynchburg College. The school's cafeteria gladly emptied its fryers for the Janssen family right after Wednesday's lunch rush.
