Lynchburg, VA -
The Liberty Flames (web) have already clinched their second straight Big South Championship. But the Flames still have plenty to play for. No Liberty team has ever won 10 games in a season, LU can do that with home victories over Gardner-Webb this week and number 10 in the nation Elon next Saturday.
If Liberty could finish 10-and-2 and knock off Elon that final week, the Flames would have to get serious consideration for the playoffs, but first things first, Gardner-Webb Saturday night. Danny Rocco thinks the Flames haven't yet played their best game.
Danny Rocco, Flames 8-and-2 This Season - "I think this football team is still capable of doing more. We have been able the last two years to play our best football at the end of the season."
Rashad Jennings, Big South's Career Rushing Leader - "You can look at guys and it's like something's missing 'cause we haven't performed the way we're capable of performing. And, you know, a lot of these seniors are stressing that to the younger guys and building even seniors upon seniors to play hard these last two games. This is all we have promised."
