Lynchburg, VA -
An area church has come up with a creative way of remembering a service member who died in Iraq (web|news) . After months of preparations, the playground in honor of Private First Class Jason Scheuerman is almost complete.
It's right next to West Lynchburg Baptist and all workers have left to do is install the security lights. Scheuerman was once very involved at the church and enjoyed working with children.
Church members say he will continue making an impact on young lives through JJ's Playground.
Tom Woodford, Church Member - "We couldn't have asked for a better Sunday last Sunday, we let the kids out to play and it was just awesome to hear the kids, laughing and playing on the equipment."
You may remember Jason Scheuerman committed suicide in Iraq back in 2005 after a battle with depression.
