Danville, VA - It's an unlikely combination: Hip Hop Dancers and Danville's Wednesday Club, but the two groups came together Wednesday afternoon.
The Wednesday Club brought in a group to celebrate the history of hip hop.
Lessons included graffiti art, breaking, popping and locking, even freestyling and head spins. Some of the events were interactive.
The Wednesday Club has similar events each week, open to the public, but they say this is the first time they've hosted a hip hop event.
Marcus White with Paradigm Dance said, "This will be our first with the Danville crowd or whatnot. We typically do these demonstrations for high school students and young adults. So this is a new opportunity for us to share our knowledge and love for hip hop."
Dancers performed hip hop moves dating back to the 1970s. And discussed how the media and social events shaped hip hop.
