Roanoke, VA -
Wednesday night in Roanoke police will begin adjusting traffic patterns around the Valley View Mall ahead of the holiday season. They say while the change in patterns is to help the increased traffic load, they caution you to still be prepared for delays when heading to the mall. Motorists are encouraged to prepare themselves for high volume traffic by allowing extra time when visiting the mall area. The changes in the traffic pattern are as follows: No left turn from westbound Valley View West onto Ring Road. No left turn from southbound Ring Road at the Valley View Boulevard access road. In addition, citizens are reminded that officers are increasing patrols during the holiday season. On November 20, 2009, the department held three traffic safety checkpoints at the following locations: 1800 block of Plantation Road Bennington Street 10th Street A total of 89 summonses were written.
