Across Virginia - Thought election season was over, didn't you? Well, for the Governor's race, it's just getting started. Fairfax County Delegate Brian Moran campaigned in Martinsville Thursday morning, and announced some local endorsements.

Moran is leader of the House democratic caucus. Delegate Ward Armstrong and other top democrats there say his focus on economic development will help Virginians. Moran says he plans to focus on education, health care, and clean energy to encourage job growth, and keep Virginia competitive.

Del. Brian Moran, (D) 46th District - "I think first and foremost right now is economic prosperity. Job growth. You know we need first to take care of those who are struggling right now unemployment and with no insurance."

Moran is one of three democratic candidates hoping to win the party's nomination in next June's primary. He's competing with Former Democratic National party chair Terry McAuliffe, and Charlottesville area State Senator Creigh Deeds.

Our partners at Politico.com say all three face different challenges. McAuliffe is a money machine, but is known more of a Washington insider, than a Virginia insider. Deeds don’t have the money to compete with either, but may have more rural support. And Moran is better known in Northern Virginia. But Politico says he's tops in organization.

Josh Kraushaar, Politico.com "Brian Moran has been really working the state from Northern Virginia, which is his base, all the way to Tidewater and Southside Virginia, to make sure he has a strong infrastructure to do well in that primary so he's got a head start on Terry McAuliffe and he seems to be better organized at this point."

As far as the lone Republican candidate, Bob McDonnell, Politico says he's got both a blessing and a curse. He can raise a lot of money to spend just on the main campaign, but he might be rustier than his democratic challenger when it comes to campaigning and fighting attacks, since he will have been at it for months.
