Campbell Co., VA - It's Wednesday and that's high school "Team of the Week" day on ABC 13 Sports.
This week we spotlight the Brookville girls basketball team. The Bees, getting in a practice early Wednesday afternoon, have raced out to a 4-0 start this year.
The Bees next action is Monday against Staunton River in round one of the Christmas Classic at William Byrd. Despite having just two seniors, Brookville has lots of juniors with good playing experience. And the players say they're communicating much better on the court.
Emilee Dunton, Brookville Senior Guard - "The coaches are like guys, you're talking on the bus all the way up here and then you get on the court and you act like you don't even know each other. So this year, you know, we're calling screens, we're helping each other, we look up the court, fastbreaks that we've been working on , transition offense and defense and that's getting better."
Lindsey Sharman, Brookville Senior Center - "I'm very hungry to win it. I know that there's plenty of other teams in the state that seniors are saying the same thing. But I truly believe we have what it takes to win this year."
