Yvonne joined Oklahoma's News Channel 8 in 1986. She is a native Tulsan, graduate of Will Rogers High School, the University of Oklahoma and in May of 2012 completed 82 hours earning her Master of Divinity Degree from Phillips Theological Seminary in Tulsa.
Community service is huge for Yvonne. "I believe we have to give back. This means both our time and resources." Yvonne's been recognized by OU's Gaylord School of Journalism, The National Association of Black Journalists, The Tulsa Association of Black Journalists, which she co-founded, and The Turley Correctional Center. In 2001, Yvonne began a big push to mentor in disadvantaged schools and her efforts set the foundation for her 501c3 non-profit, My Kidz International, a mentoring organization for children and incarcerated mothers. www.mykidz.org
Yvonne is the mother of an exceptionally gifted daughter named Hunter who is a college freshman. Hunter is studying film and has earned a staff position with her college newspaper.
