Matt Ferguson - WSET.com - ABC13

Meteorologist Matt Ferguson is part of the ABC 13 team of WXperts. He can be seen weekdays on Good Morning Virginia and ABC 13 News Midday. Matt has been part of the WSET family for over five years now and is happy to call Central Virginia home. He arrived in 2004 as our weekend meteorologist and now has become a vital part of ABC 13's team of meteorologists. Matt says that it's great to be able to work in a profession you are truly passionate about and beyond a doubt love what you do.

At an early age Matt decided to pursue a career in TV meteorology and graduated from UNC-Asheville in 2002 with a BS, in Meteorology. He has earned the American Meteorological Society Seal of Approval for Broadcast Meteorology and is a member of the National Weather Association.

Matt is from Cherryville, NC, just outside of Charlotte. He previously worked at television stations in Asheville and Charlotte before arriving at WSET.

In his spare time, Matt enjoys working out, traveling, and the company of friends and family.
