Mark Kelly is a reporter and fill-in anchor/producer for ABC-13 News.
Mark joined ABC-13 in July 2010 after reporting at KOMU 8-TV, the NBC-affiliate in Columbia, Missouri. During his time in the Midwest, Mark was a fill-in anchor and general assignment reporter, covering a variety of stories from the State Capitol to the State Fair. He was also a one-man-band journalist shooting, writing and editing every story on his own. Everyone defines a good day at work differently. For Mark, it means finding the nugget of information that makes someone's story memorable, and sharing that with the community.
Mark graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Journalism from the Missouri School of Journalism, the first journalism school in the world. He also earned a minor in political science. Mark's first exposure to a television newsroom was an internship after freshman year in college at his hometown NBC-affiliate, WBRE-TV, in Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, Pennsylvania. The following year Mark interned at FOX News Channel in New York City on the Election Headquarters show, and helped launch the cable channel's first website for its internship program. In spring 2009 Mark lived four months in London, England, interning as a production assistant at CNBC Europe.
Mark likes traveling places he has never seen before, listening to country music in the car, watching good plays, and a bold cup of black coffee.
