I'd just gotten through a long day when I came across a website, itmademyday.com. People post little blurbs about moments of wins. Here are some of my favorites.
"I'm 26 and was just diagnosed with Stage IV cancer. I was terrified for my first chemo treatment, but all the nurses at the infusion center really helped ease my mind and the treatment went better than I ever expected. Not getting incredibly sick during my first treatment MMD and hopefully will make the rest easier as well!"
"I was on the way to my usual customer's address to deliver a pizza. When he opened the door, he threw confetti and gave me a $500 tip saying, "Scott! this is your 100th time delivering to me! Congratulations" IMMD"
"Today, I sang and danced and drank a glass of wine as I cleaned my house. I was in such a good mood I decided to share it by posting about it on Facebook. Minutes later my Dad's girlfriend comments with: "Your Dad says you get that from your Mother". My mum died over 12 years ago, when I was 9, and knowing that I grew up to be just like her totally MMD!"
I was at the Roanoke County Courthouse when I met Ray Jones, the father and husband of two people killed in a drunk driving accident last August. On a short recess, after listening to witnesses describe how the man on trial barreled through a red light and killed half the Jones family, I overheard a conversation Ray had with a family member of the man who was eventually convicted. She introduced herself and told him how sorry she was for what happened. He smiles, bends down and thanks her. Being reminded you've gotta ‘move onto the next play' made my day.
