Lynchburg, VA - The James River Day School in Lynchburg pitched in Tuesday morning to help Centra fund the move of their pediatric wing from Virginia Baptist to Lynchburg General.
They presented a check for more than $600 to George Dawson, the CEO of Centra Health.
Students raised the money through popcorn and drink sales on a school spirit day earlier this spring.
And they managed to keep the donation a secret until Tuesday morning
"I knew something was up, but I didn't know how much had been done. The real impact is all these bright smiling face and willingness to lead happy lives," Dawson said.
Centra's move is scheduled to be completed in July.
