Lynchburg, VA - The first co-ed class graduated from Randolph College in Lynchburg Sunday. The 107 graduates are from 21 states and 13 countries.
Former member of the Virginia House of Delegates Shannon Valentine offered the commencement address.
Members of the Class of 2011 have varying plans after graduation. Some have jobs and internships planned, while others were accepted into some of the nations top graduate schools, including Duke, Columbia University, and UCLA.
Graduate Rhiannon Knol called the graduation bittersweet.
"I'm very happy but I'm also very overwhelmed right now. But, it's sad to be leaving because it's such a close, small community," she said.
The ceremony took place outside at The Mabel Whiteside Greek Theatre.
