Lynchburg, VA - Dozens of police officers attended a celebration of life service for Chris Tarbell Sunday afternoon.
He died Friday at Lynchburg General hospital. Friends say he became ill after going through chemotherapy for cancer.
The 41-year-old had been the neighborhood watch coordinator for the police department since 2008. Before taking that position, Tarbell was a radio disc jockey in Erie, Pennsylvania where he was born.
Friends remember his long walks with his miniature dachshunds, Charlie and Winston. He leaves many siblings, nieces and nephews and his "true love" behind, according to his obituary.
