The Oral Roberts baseball team finds itself as the only state school remaining alive and the Golden Eagles have a chance to advance to super regional play when they face Dallas Baptist tonight in a winner-take-all contest.
It's been a rise from the ashes for the Golden Eagles, who lost in Friday's opening game of the TCU regional to the host Horned Frogs 10-2, but bounced back with a 7-0 win to eliminate Oklahoma Saturday, then avenged the loss to TCU Sunday afternoon.
That set up a David vs. David battle against Dallas Baptist, which has only been an NCAA Division I member since 2006. The Golden Eagles picked up a complete game victory by Mark Guest against the Patriots Sunday night to force today's regional championship.
A win would put the Golden Eagles into the super regionals against California or Baylor next weekend.
ORU defeated Baylor 7-3 in the season opener in Waco, Texas.
