Marion Jones and the Tulsa Shock enter their second season and will host their home opener tonight at 7 p.m. at the BOK Center.
NewsChannel 8's Kristin Dickerson caught up with Marion to talk about the excitement leading up to tonight's opener against the San Antonio Silver Spurs.
"We are so excited, to find out that we only have five hundred tickets left. Come, buy your tickets, it's going to be sold out, it's going to be rockin' and we are going to entertain you on the court, no doubt," Marion said.
Jones is enjoying her second season here in Tulsa. She says she has been pleasantly surprised with the support the team is getting from fans in northeastern Oklahoma.
"Everywhere we go, people have our back," she says. "They love us and it feels so good. It feels like a small, small community."
The Shock are 0-and-2 after road losses to San Antonio and Minnesota, but Jones says the team has a very bright future.
"I think we have a great future. We're young, we're fresh and I think it brings a level of energy to the Tulsa community that maybe hasn't been there for a while," she said. "I just know people, if you come to the game one time, you're going to be hooked for life. The style of basketball we play, that Coach Richardson has us playing is one that, if you love the game, you're going to love watching us play."
