Campbell Co., VA - The fundraising continues at Brookville High School for a field house in honor of a principal who died in 2008 during a hunting accident.
Jim Whorley coached football and taught math at the school. The total cost of the new enhancement is $500,000. So far a little more than $200,000 has been raised.
Recently, the campaign received $50,000 - $25,000 of that came from former teammate George "Deke" Summers.
An organizer of the Jim Whorley Field House capital campaign says donations are beginning to pick up.
"It's a big project for this community and it's a real challenge but I don't know of a place that can take a challenge better than Brookville," John Vasvary said.
