Now that I have a dog, I thought I just had to do my part to help the city get a dog park. So last Saturday morning I loaded Cadbury into the car to be part of the video "Friends of the Lynchburg Dog Park" was putting together for the Petsafe Bark for your Park contest. The company will give $100,000 to the winner to build a dog park.
They were asking for a big turnout to prove how enthusiastic the citizens are. Well it turns out they would have done just fine without me-- the turnout was great! They estimated around 175- 200 people came out, and most of them with their pets. The variety of dogs there was so much fun to see.
So they shot the video, with oodles of cheering dog owners in the background, and now they'll put it together and send it in. If Petsafe then selects Lynchburg as one of the top 15 cities, they'll post the video online on July 13th. The next step for us is to get online and vote for Lynchburg! You can vote once a day every day until the voting closes on August 3rd. So mark your calendars for July 13th! And cross your fingers that on that date, Lynchburg is among the contenders.

PS: Here's a picture of Cadbury. I think he should have been the star of the video!
