Two Teens Get Maximum Sentence for Assaulting Appx. Boy on Bus

Posted:

Appomattox, VA - Two teenage boys charged with assaulting a 10-year-old special needs boy on an Appomattox school bus have pleaded guilty.

A judge handed down the maximum sentence - 60 days at Lynchburg's Juvenile Detention Center and probation. They have also been told not to contact the victim or his family.

The 15-year-old and 16-year-old were each convicted of assault and battery and disorderly conduct, according to Appomattox Deputy Commonwealth's Attorney Les Fleet.

We first brought you the story last month in an interview with the victim's mother. She said her son was bullied on his way home from the Rivermont School in Lynchburg.

The driver of that school bus, Nancy Davis, has been charged with child abuse by neglect for the May 5 incident. She's expected in court July 18.
