Lynchburg, VA- A new movie theater could soon be moving into the old Carmike Cinemas 8 in the Plaza. There are currently plans to re-open a movie cinema there in mid-August.
Owner of Visulite Cinemas, Adam Greenbaum tells ABC-13 News he's entered an agreement to re-open the movie theater owned by Liberty University. Greenbaum says his company has signed a lease with LU to reopen the movie theater, and hopes to show first run movies, as well as independent films, and foreign films. Greenbaum says he also plans to do some remodeling to the theater by adding some lounge areas.
Visulite Cinemas currently has two movie theaters in Staunton and one in Charlottesville
Carmike Cinemas 8 closed in April this year.
