Roanoke, VA - The City of Roanoke is gearing up for another school season by teaming up with the Roanoke Rescue Mission to throw a party.

This year the "Back to School Blast" will be August 13 at the Roanoke Civic Center where more than 3,000 kids are expected to be in attendance to receive much needed school supplies.

Until then, the Roanoke Rescue Mission is collecting supplies if you'd like to donate anything from backpacks to glue sticks.

The deadline to donate supplies is July 31.
