Danner Evans returns to ABC 13 News – and boy is she glad to be home again! She's back to anchor the new 5 and 5:30 newscasts, and to handle the health stories that matter to you and your family.
She returns to the Heart of Virginia after sitting in the main anchor seat every night on WMBF News in Myrtle Beach. Danner launched the first all HD digital station built from the ground up. She also won awards from the South Carolina Associated Press for both medical and education reporting in the Palmetto State.
Danner also launched her family at the beach. She left Lynchburg a newlywed and returns a proud mom to son, Luke. She's also mom to a former Lynchburg Humane Society Pet of the Week dog – Marley.
When she's not bringing you coverage you can count on you'll probably see her running the streets juggling a jog stroller and dog leash. Danner recently finished her first Virginia 10 Miler and the Myrtle Beach Half Marathon, but her favorite race so far is the New York Marathon.
Although Danner grew up in Wichita, Kansas and cheers for her alma mater, the KU Jayhawks, Virginia really is her home now. For the latest headlines in the ABC 13 newsroom, you can follow her on Facebook and Twitter. If you've got a story you'd like to tell, don't hesitate to reach out and let Danner know.
