Halifax Co., VA - The blazing heat didn't stop folks from heading out to the Cantaloupe Festival in Halifax County Friday.
There isn't a short supply of the cantaloupe, even though some farmers were worried about the heat.
With the temperature hovering around 100 degrees and the humidity through the roof, festival-goers did all they could to stay cool Event organizers handed out water by the bucketful all day long.
With multitudes of melons, lots of live music, and plenty of food, the heat has not been able to get people down.
This is the 31st year of the festival and they all say no amount of heat can keep them away.
