Hi! I'm Heather, the new reporter at the Danville bureau.
After two weeks in this cute city, I have met new people, got to know a bit of the culture, and have been enjoying all that Danville has to offer!
I grew up in Houston, Texas and have always loved the South. That's why I think it has been such an easy transition to Danville..I too am a Southerner! Although there are some differences between Danville and Houston. The first is the size - I grew up in a place full of freeways instead of farmers markets and traffic instead of trees. Another difference is the food. Although I am a sucker for good Texas cooking, I recently discovered the wonders of fried apples and the best barbecue around!! One thing I have noticed is that Danville has brought the heat for me lately..even the weather is welcoming, trying to make me feel at home!
I have been lucky enough to work on some great stories and with some amazing people!! I am so thankful for the kindness I have been shown! I can't wait to continue to dive into the depths of Danville!
