Clifford, VA - Ryan Stinnett of Amherst became the first golfer to win six championships in the Patrick Henry Invitational Sunday at Winton Country Club.
Trailing Lee Fisher by two shots with just two holes left, Stinnett eagled the par-4 17th to draw even and force a playoff. Stinnett would par the first playoff hole, Fisher ran into trouble and bogeyed as Stinnett wins his sixth Patrick Henry Invitational with a final-round 4-under 67. Donnie Lee Almond finished third, two shots off the pace. Marvin Tinsley won the seniors division by two shots over Gary Preston of Charlottesville. Defending champ Bert Allen tied for third.
