Joe Chase
Lynchburg, VA - A Lynchburg postal worker celebrated 50 years of service at the U.S. Postal Service Thursday.
Joe Chase said the secret to his long service is the people and the company he worked for.
Friends, co-workers and family gathered to celebrate that service. Chase was also given a pen from the postmaster general in honor of his half century of work.
"That is really an honor," Chase said. " Something I'll keep forever right in the den at home."
Chase plans on retiring in January, but his kids say he'll keep on working, just in a different atmosphere.
