People ask me all the time: "Hey, Len! How's married life treating you?" My response is always the same. I tell them it's fantastic and that my girls take great care of me.
Melissa and I have been married for nearly a year now (August 28th) and I couldn't be happier. I'm so grateful I am with her and my step-daughter Olivia.
They are both incredibly cool. Many of you already know Melissa, mostly because of her voice. She's the lead singer for the local band Dragonfly. And boy, can she sing a tune! If you like live music and haven't yet checked them out, you owe it to yourself to give them a try. They're fantastic. I met Melissa at a Dragonfly concert at Smith Mountain Lake.
We're trying to get Olivia involved in music, too. She has a little guitar and is definitely interested. But she's also in to many different things. She loves arts and crafts. We think she could become quite an artist.
Together with our dog Scooby, we have quite a busy household. To borrow a line from the band Madness, there's always something happening and it's usually quite loud. And fun. And full of love.
I came into the marriage game a little late, marrying Melissa two days after my 40th birthday. Sometimes, I wish I had met them earlier. Then I think, it's okay. I really wouldn't change a thing. Sometimes, things just work out for a reason. And boy, have they ever worked out for me.
Melissa, I love you. Thank you so much for being my wife. And Olivia, thanks for being the best little girl in the world. You both make me so very happy.
