When I tell people I've never been to a wedding before, they usually give me looks that one would give a person with four heads. Alas, it is true. I have NEVER been to a wedding! I don't know why. The opportunity just never really presented itself.
However, that is all about to change!
My cousin, Andrea, and her long time boyfriend (not sure how long long-time is) got engaged last summer. They decided to tie the knot on September 3rd of this year! At 21 years of age, this will be my first wedding and what a special one it will be. Andrea, 26, is more like a sister to me than a cousin; her fiancée, John, is like a brother. They are an incredible couple that just exudes love, happiness and compassion onto others. I am so happy for them and so grateful that I get to share in their incredibly special, blessed day.
With all of that said, I am extremely excited to see my family! And what better occasion to be reunited with the "clan" than a joyous wedding, celebrating an amazing couple? I am so looking forward to everything my first wedding will have to offer – great food, drinks, dancing, music, and most importantly, quality time with my wonderful family, honoring a couple that defines what love and happiness should be.
